Steelike to Participate in DRBA World Environment Day
Steelike to Participate in World Environment Day Sponsored by the Delaware River and Bay Authority on June 1, 2022.
Springfield, VA, May 20, 2022 – – Steelike, Inc., creator and supplier of Steelike® UHPC, announced that they will be participating in the World Environment Day event sponsored by the Delaware River and Bay Authority. The even takes place on June 1, from 10 AM to 2 PM, at Veterans Memorial Park in New Castle, Delaware, and is free and open to the public.
Stop by the Steelike booth to learn about the many ways that the use of Steelike UHPC can help the environment. These include:
- Energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprint – Steelike UHPC requires 40% less material compared to conventional concrete, resulting in a chain of environmental benefits such as less fuel needed to transport components, foundations can be fewer or smaller, and bridge approaches can be lower to reduce fill
- Longevity – 10X more wear resistant and 100X more corrosion resistant than conventional concrete, studies show UHPC can last up to 800 years in aggressive environments.
- Ability to extend the longevity of existing infrastructure – longer life means fewer infrastructure replacements
- Recycling – Up to 25% of Steelike UHPC is recycled post-industrial waste
Attendees at Steelike’s booth can also register for a raffle to win a number of exciting prizes!
Additional information about the event can be found on the Delaware River and Bay Authority website and a map to the event can be found on the Eventbrite website.
